I am glad I found these boots! I have a part-time job where I am on my feet for 8 or more hours at a time on concrete. I am required to wear professional clothing, but I prefer skirts over pants. During the winter I need a good flat, non skid sole knee high boot to keep my legs from freezing, but I have found it difficult to find real leather wide calf boots with perfectly flat soles and good cushioning inside. I wore these for the first during an almost 9 hour shift, and they were great! The inside is very soft. The arch support was fine for me, but if you have any other foot issues, you may need to add something. The only thing I don't like about them so far is the back zipper. It is a bit more difficult to get up than other boots I have with side zippers. The calf was still a bit snug, but the elastic around the top helped me get them zipped, and I'm sure they will stretch more with wear. The leather is beautiful and soft.These are almost great. Footbed is comfortable - I have a very wide foot and a high instep. The boot calf fits my calf beautifully. It was a bit tight when it first arrived, but it quickly stretched to fit my calf.The only drawback, the zipper up the back (while cool looking and love the red stripe effect) can scruntch down and rub my ankle. Thick socks seem to mostly solve the problem.Granted, I've only worn them 3 times, so it might solve itself with more wear.I bought these boots with a regular calf measure and loved them. I have skinny legs and those fit me like a glove . I figured the wide calf couldn't be too wide but I bought them and the calf area is a bit wide. I plan on keeping them. The other pair are a size 9 B and I bought these a 9.5 because they were a tad cheaper. They both fit fine because these run small so just a half size more did not make a great difference. I usually wear a size 9 and have narrow feet except for my toe area. Love the comfort of rubber soles and the light weight feel of these. They are perfect for taking subways and standing on my feet all day st work .Incredibly comfortable. The back zipper makes it very easy to slip on, unlike many calf-length boots. I have very muscular calves and the width fit perfectly. The only issue I have with it is that it does not hug my leg from ankle to calf. There is a bulge in the back along the zipper similar to "hips" sewn into plus size jeans. It's not flattering from a side profile. BUT because of how comfortable it is, I still kept it!Love this boot! The zipper goes all the way down to the heel for easy on and off. The footbed is what I have come to expect from softwalk; I will be able to stand all day in comfort. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is that it is a little narrow in the toe box. Luckily I am in the south so I won't need to wear thick socks for warmth.I love these boots! The problem is that I have had them for two months and the sole has already worn through. For $200, I should be able to keep these for a few seasons at least. If the sole was more durable, they would have been the first 5 star boots I have ever purchased. The leather is outstanding, and there is enough room for arch supports. The back zip is so comfortable and the red adds a bit of style.I can only give these boots 2 stars because the quality is not up to par with the pricing. They are super comfortable, however, but these are the issues: I paid $112.99 and I’ve only had these boots now for 8 months. I don’t wear them everyday, and in the summer months, not at all so they’ve only got about 4 months of wear. The foot part of the boot became very scuffed and the zipper repeatedly breaking. I work for a day program so I’m on my feet a lot and walking, but there’s no reason why this should have happened.I may have finally found my boot holy grail. These boots are so comfortable and I have a wide foot and very muscular calves. I've had foot surgery on both feet and struggle finding anything stylish and comfortable. I love the rubberized sole as well. My only critique is the zipper. Why oh why not use a solid black zipper on black boots? I do not like the red zipper, but at least it's in the backI ordered a half size up based on other reviews (9.5 vs 9) and really really wanted them to work. I thought they would be perfect for work in the winter (they are winter boots but not -40) they look cute and different than the typical black boot and are wide calf. I like how they conceal the stretchy part (though it could be a little stretchier) sadly the boot is too difficult to zip up (I think it is a design flaw) and is really hard to zip up basically impossible so I had to return sadly. The sole feels really cushiony and the boots look amazing. Maybe if I had really narrow feet (my feet are defn not wide) zipping would be easier I thought that ordering a half size up would allow ample space to zip but it didn’t help (I never even tried my foot that is slightly bigger)The toe on this real leather boot is retro at best and quite narrow. Great soft mock for running around the house with. Good for women who have larger than average calves. Soft walking best describes the wear-ability of this boot.
