I bought the Maxim 1096BK light post base from another seller and wasn't sure how it would look. I have a plain aluminum post for my outdoor lantern and wanted to dress it up. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this base comes in two cast metal halves that are held together with 4 small bolts on the side, so it was easy to install over the plain pole that was already cemented into the ground. It comes with two hex key wrenches - one to remove, then reinstall the bolts, and the other to tighten the top against the pole. Thus, the installation was very simple and easy. And the base really dresses up the pole, so it now looks quite elegant.
